Coors-icles
The think tank at Molson Coors Beverage Company, the parent company of Coors, have just come up with an early entry into the 2023 “oh god why” category. The Coors-icles are Molson Coors 2023 NCAA gimmick. Just in time for the tip-offs, you can score a “beer-flavored popsicle” either online or at one of the 800 bars around the US.
The Coors-icles beer-flavored popsicles are going to be extremely short lived, and will only be available online in very limited quantities. Coors is trying to drive up the hype-train by opening the shop at 12 p.m. every weekday (here) until March 24. So, if you want them, you should have that credit card handy, and that mouse finger warmed up.
Now I know some of you may be thinking, well that’s kind of fun. It’s beer, its frozen, spring is around the corner (unless you reside in the Northeast) and it has booze. And all of that is true except for the booze part. The Coors-icles are non-alcoholic. Leaving you with just frozen Coors light…
If you’re looking for your ice pops to be a bit more adult, I asked Chat GPT to drum up a recipe for you (below). But if you get the chance to try one of the Coors-icles, please let us know what they taste like. Call it a morbid curiosity. And no, I don’t think we’re going to order any… We tried the Modist & Hormel beer, so I think it’s your turn in the barrel.
Adult Ice Pops
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of your preferred alcoholic beverage (such as vodka, rum, or tequila)
- 3 cup of fruit juice or puree
- Simple syrup or sweetener of your choice (optional)
- Ice pop molds
- Popsicle sticks
Instructions:
- Mix together your alcoholic beverage and fruit juice or puree in a pitcher. You can adjust the ratio of alcohol to juice based on your preference for a stronger or milder flavor.
- Add simple syrup or another sweetener to the mixture. This step is optional, but it can help balance out the bitterness of certain alcohols or juices.
- Pour the mixture into your ice pop molds, leaving a little space at the top of each mold to allow for expansion as the mixture freezes.
- Insert popsicle sticks into each mold, making sure they are centered and secure.
- Place the molds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 4 hours, or until completely solid.
- Once frozen, remove the ice pops from the molds by running them under warm water for a few seconds.
- Enjoy your boozy icicles!
